I have stayed here previously (and will no doubt do so again) but the insistence on seeing photo ID does not sit well with me. UK residents do not have an ID card. Paying to use the telly is (in my opinion) takes stripping back to basics one step too far. It would have been nice to have had a cup or tumbler in the room.

As a super budget brand, we aim to keep things simple and our check in process smooth and to ensure this, we email all of our guests to remind them to bring a photo ID. This is visible across all of our booking channels, even before a booking is made. Looking at your booking, we can see that a thank you email was sent to yourself advising you that a photo ID will be required on check in and a final reminder email was also sent out advising the same thing. We knew there that tv, late check out etc were all extra but not to have a kettle was very poor in our option. We had an issue with our room on day 3 of our visit, the gentleman that dealt with the issue was very helpful, sympathetic and re-roomed us within ten minutes or so of us raising the complaint- top marks for his service and attitude, the other members of staff that we saw throughout our stay were all polite and welcoming too it has to be said.

Superb value for money, clean, quiet, comfortable bed, air conditioned, good shower/bathroom. Staff printed off a concert ticket for me which was kind of them. Excellent location for Quayside being a few steps away with bars, restaurants nearby and an off licence across the road. Train station is less than 10 mins walk away. If the prices stay this low, it would encourage me into Newcastle to see concerts more often.
