Beautiful réception area. We checked in late in the evening, welcome was OK. Réceptionist said the hotel is more tailored ro business travellers, as opoosed to couples (although we saw many couples)hich took a good 10 minutes. The room was quite spacious (crack in on the flooring which we covered with a towel) with a good sized modern shower room (shower jets low power). The complimentary products appeared to have been refilled, as one bottle was a little dirty so we didnt use them. Resuedted a fork from the bar and theh said we should come down to get it or it would be a 5GBP charge. At 11.30pm, we did not wish to do that,m after travelling, so no fork. Check out was much better with the beautiful, sincere smile and welcome from the réceptionist. NOTE: As Birmingham is preparing for the 'Commonwealth' Games,it was a little noiser in the area than usual. FOR US:Clayton good for afternoon tea as bar area is lovely, not to stay over.

Lack of desk staff late evening. When an additional one came along he decided to take a call half way through dealing with me. Rude. A first time visitors we were 'upgraded' but if that's an upgraded room then a standard room must be very poor. Bathroom - no conditioner, no cotton buds. Just poor value. Probably £60 a night overpriced. This hotel is not as described.

Great price and value for the hotel. Very new, bed was a bliss. Breakfast is pretty good, although I wasn’t offered instructions on how to use the WiFi upon check in so I never get to use it

Modern hotel

Very noisy heating. Shower floods bathroom due to a modern half screen. Had very little sleep as night club / music in hotel . Very hard to relax .

Perfect night in

It was a bit of shock that your room gets charged £5 for ‘tray fees’. This is basically room service. This isn’t just a one off fee, it’s everytime you call for room service. We had a bucket of ice ordered and when we checked out there was £5 to pay and then they explained. They do say that ‘if you want something to your room, get it yourself’. Not so much the best hospitality really.
