Big hotel, 17 stories tall. Good location, room was quiet, of a good size and well equipped. Free was was fast and good variety at the free breakfast. A few minor issues: 1. With only 3 lifts you sometimes have to wait for a minute for a lift to arrive. 2. The bar/restaurant/reception area was a little chilly. 3. Reception is on level 3, so when you walk into turn hotel you have to get a lift to to reception (or any other floor). The ground floor is unsupervised so in theory anyone can walk in off the street and access any floor. Seemed a security risk.

When we entered the room, we found that it had not been cleaned well. Food remnants were on the floor, rubbish under the bed etc. When we informed them and complained about the cleanliness of the room, we were given another bigger and better room. In the advert and hotel info, the bed was described as queen bed, but turned out to be a normal double bed!! We complained but were told that they didn't have other than double beds!! The tissue box in the bathroom was empty, and there was only one roll of toilet paper, no spare roll as usual. One of the towels was not clean enough either.. We tried to call the reception staff in a number of occasions to let them know, but several times the phone was not answered despite the long wait in calling them. Phone was ringing but no one picked it up!!

We were there for 2 nights over the new years eve period. The first night at 11pm we decided to have showers. Wow! The noise of the shower was like a aircraft taking off. The next morning we complained to reception who changed our room straight away but it was inconvenient repacking and unpacking. Suley

Likes - Location and Security Dislikes - Lifts. The operating system seemed to be confused and a lot of people were waiting 5 mins + Breakfast was mayhem also. Maybe a note of when busiest times are would be helpful

Good clean and modern. Would recommend any Business traveller especially if you ask for a high floor away from any Broad street noise.

It’s a dated building in a good location for the ICC. Not too expensive. Issues were pretty minor but as follows: 1) blind in room was broken and stuck in down position. Bit miserable couldn’t get light in room. Was only there to sleep but on the first day I had a couple of hours to spend in the room and it was a bit depressing. Didn’t raise it as I was only there for a bit. 2) major roadworks outside, required a significant detour to get to the car park. It would have been good if the hotel notified guests in advance to spare guests aimless driving around to try and find the back entrance
