A world away from Mercure Edinburgh

Pros: Very central, good location
Cons: Look at the Mercure in Edinburgh and learn from it
Location: Very central, good location
Hotel needs modernised badly. We were in room 303, which looks directly out onto the front of Ingram Street. Room absolutely tiny. Walls like paper, could hear practically everything from adjoining rooms and from the street outside. Cleaners made the bed, that was about it, dirty glasses/cups not removed, tea not refilled etc. Another observation. When we left our luggage at Mercure Edinburgh we were given correlating tags so that we could prove that the luggage was ours on collection. Not so in Glasgow, we could have lifted whatever bags in the luggage room we liked and anyone could have lifted ours.

Central hotel

Lovely staff. Hotel was close to shopping areas which was ideal. Some other guests were noisy however the hotel can't do anything about this

Close to trains, bus, shopping.

Pros: Close to trains and shopping
Cons: Information about room location when exiting the lift.
Location: One block from George's Square!
Very friendly and polite staff. Hotel was easy to walk to, had a reasonable price on their breakfast and had made every attempt to eliminate the street noise in the room.

great couples treat close

New years eve and the night after was spent in the mercure ..we enjoyed our stay ..the location was great for everything around the city centre. On the day we checked out me and my girlfriend had our luggage placed in storage while we went shopping to save any inconvenience of carrying them...this was a great help and the staff were very helpful .

Great location

Being in the very centre of Glasgow, close to both the shops and the train station, makes the location of the hotel hard to beat. It's not a luxury hotel but the rooms are comfortable and clean with everything you could reasonably need. Hard to fault for the money.

New Year away

We went to Glasgow to see the New Year in and were pleasantly surprised at the location and quality of the hotel. The rooms were not spacious, but very comfortable with good facilities. Breakfast was also excellent and the staff most welcoming and helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you pay a visit to Glasgow.

great hotel

We had a lovely stay at Mercure Glasgow. Central location was main reason for choice. Staff very helpful. Room very comfortable. Late bar great for nightcap.
