5*.....never in a million years!!

We visit Inverness regularly for business and have probably stayed in every hotel there except this one as the prices were always astronomical compared to anywhere else no matter what time of year although it was always intruiging as to why. Somehow it is 5* rated and thought this would be the reasoning but when we had to book a trip last week the cost was not cheap but cheaper than I had ever seen it before so thought I'd book to see what the difference is. While the hotel is clean and comfortable I just can't Phaethon the rating, no sky tv, no lifts, no ramps (not that we needed them), described as having super fluffy towels and velvet bath robes (not true). Perhaps it was the best of everything 20 years ago or maybe I expected to be blown away by the place but all damp squib I'm afraid. No doubt it is still ahead of most Inverness hotels but the kingsmills hotel is so far ahead of this and only has 4* rating, totally bizarre. How they fill rooms at the prices they usually charge £200-£300 a night I can now testify that it is hugely overpriced and over rated, I have stayed in 5* in sw1 London, chalk and cheese albeit my own personal opinion.
