No frills, hard to find

Really impressive reception room but rooms feel small and dated. It felt like a cheap poorly done version of Bloc hotel rooms. Wouldn't stay here again. But was clean and friendly staff.

great location but the room was too small for me!

Pros: Location & price
Cons: Room size & a window
Location: Broad Street/The Mailbox/Brindley Place - right on the door step
This hotel may be right for some but not for me. Of course I could see some photos & read some reviews but I decided to give it a go due to it's location & price. When I checked in I was told it's a Japanese style cabin hotel. It didn't quite click until I got to my room, basically the width of the bed plus 2 doors (1 to get in & 1 for the bathroom)! No windows! Perhaps it's my fault & I didn't quite take in all the info before I booked. Yes, I only slept there for a few hours but it was just so small & tight and the bathroom/toilet was a small wetroom. Small is the keyword. Modern with pleasant staff & an excellent location for Broad Street/Mailbox. In future I would choose a traditional hotel unless the price difference was too great & then, despite what I've just said, I would stay again if I had no choice based on my budget. No parking but public parking very near & SIP Parking very decent price.

This hotel has bedbugs. Sleeping in a windowless box is also really unpleasant

Crashpad

Pros: Clean
Cons: Lighting - especially in the bathroom could be brighter. Iron in ironing room needs upgrading.
Location: Great location if you are planning to go out on Broad St. (5 Min walk) also very close to Mailbox too.
I booked this hotel knowing what to expect in terms of size, however I am a small person and found the room too small. I stayed there for one night to attend an work xmas party on Broad St. (for which this hotel is conveniently located to). I would say it is only big enough for one person or two small people. The fact there is no window doesn't help the rooms dimensions and lighting wasn't bright enough - especially in the bathroom. It feels like an inside cabin of a cruise ship. The bathroom is a wetroom and due to the small dimensions prepare for everywhere to get wet after a shower. Overall the room and wetroom were clean however. I was only in the room for a couple of hours and was out by the morning. It's ok for one night but I would not recommend staying longer than one night. Price is ok and you get what you pay for. Just a warning regarding the iron, it is located in a room downstairs and it was a shockingly bad iron (dry iron - no steam). Luckily I ironed my outfit before coming to the hotel so it wasn't too creased. just bear that in mind.

Staying in the city

Cons: The way the staff talk to the customers when leaving.
Location: The location is very central to the city, and close to everything including the train station.
Apart from the lobby, the hotel including the room was extremely claustrophobic as there were no windows anywhere, and also the air circulation was very poor and stagnant. The room was beyond small, and if you're over 6 feet tall you won't be able to stretch out when lying in bed. The bed and pillows were also very uncomfortable. The bathroom however had everything you needed including towels and a large heated mirror, and the nightlight illuminating the lights was a nice touch. Finally, the staff although helpful in telling me where I could go for dinner, only said 'bye' when I left. It would have been nice if they said 'I hope you enjoyed your stay' or something to entice me to return in the future.

Schnee in birmingham
