Exceeded expectations!

The first thing I would like to say is how exceptional the reception staff are in this hotel. They really go the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble. The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. There are lots of little extras in the room too and as an original Bristol girl returning for a wedding, I loved the quirky mugs! They are doing everything right at this hotel. A perfect stay!

Nice touches to make it feel better than average

Cons: Slight issues with the cleanliness of the fridge!
Location: Really near Cribb's Causeway Mall which was handy.
We really appreciated the milk in the fridge, the nice tea selection as well as the Espa products. Spacious room as we were in a refurbished room.

Ok business type hotel

Currently undergoing refurbishment. Sadly had one of the old rooms which was very tired. Very poor breakfast especially for the cost. Reception polite and a nice pool area. Will be better when refurb complete.

Fab hotel have stayed there many times.

Pros: We love this hotel
Cons: You company e bookers to get it right for us.
Our experience at the Aztec was fab. It was you e Booker that caused the problems as you did not send to Aztec the right confirmation. We booked two rooms with you but when we got to the hotel they only had one room booking. Not good re you.. So we had one person without a room . NOT A VERY HAPPY E BOOKER CUSTOMER.

Location: Cheddar gorge beautiful
Family friendly hotel. Aspects of hotel dated but working going on at present to modernise. Drilling started at ten on a Sunday morning by the work men which we were not expecting. Shower too low for adult to stand under. Food nice and staff approachable and friendly.

Desperately in need of an overhaul

Pros: The pool and spa
Cons: The bedrooms
I booked a double room for a quick business trip. Unfortunately, the room was very old fashioned and boiling hot. The air conditioning was so ineffective, I didn't sleep a wink as it was far too hot, and couldn't open the window because of traffic noise. However, the hotel is currently revamping some of the bedrooms - so I'm presuming they just haven't got around to this one yet. Not a cheap hotel - and my room definitely wasn't worth the price.

Booked the spa, got the lodge?!?

I booked a room at the Aztec Hotel and Spa, and when I got there they told me I was booked in a room at the Lodge, across the road. The room at the Lodge was fine, but all the facilities of the Hotel and Spa were extra. You could get breakfast at the Lodge, if you were happy with a Starbucks muffin and coffee. And the internet connection was pretty unreliable. Otherwise a nice enough room etc. but I've never previously experienced booking into one hotel and getting there to be told I'm staying across the road at the annexe!
