Amazing hotel. Best customer service we’ve experienced this year. Staff were fabulous chatty, polite interested in you had a giggle. Can’t fault the place well worth the price tag! If you’re going to Manchester I don’t think you’ll find better!

The hotel itself is gorgeous, beautifully decorated throughout. Our room was lovely with a bath in the bedroom, comfy bed and good quality bedding. Afternoon tea and breakfast were excellent, as were cocktails in Club Brass. However, our room was cold even with the heating on full, we were cold for our whole trip. Then building work started right next door very very loudly at 6am, waking us up and it was just continuous after that. Shame because the hotel is lovely.

Six of us stayed at The Gotham for one night on 22nd (three couples) for a belated birthday celebration. Location is great & check in was quick, smooth, and felt luxury. The rooms are small but nice (we booked a standard double) Don’t expect a large room unless you pay for one. They’re nicely decorated, but a little tired now. Pulls in the wall paper and chips in the cupboards. There was also dust and hair in our bathroom. And in our friends room, the clothes from the previous occupant were still in the wardrobe! Not the attention to detail you’d expect for the price. On the plus side, tea and coffee making facilities are good. Free bottle of water. The beds were comfy and there are White Company toiletries. We went to the bar for one drink before dinner (about 5ish) and I’m glad we did. Atmosphere is good, cocktails were nice and the staff were great. HOWEVER, when we went back later (around 11/midnight) there was an 18 year olds party in the majority of the bar. As we were ushered into a small area, we watched a lad throw up in a cupboard, other people hiding gas canisters down their trousers, and some attendees smoking weed on the balcony. We’ve all been 18. But we paid nearly £1,000 in total for our stay and it just wasn’t in keeping with the price. A lovely member of staff found us a table in the restaurant to have a drink. The staff are incredible; attentive, friendly and helpful. But there are so many other, better hotels in the city for the same price.

Unique layout not like your usual high class hotels. Excellent staff catered to all needs. Would highly recommend if your looking for luxury with a twist.

Bedroom very small very cold too, AC very difficult to use bo heating settings, stains on carpet. The breakfast and bathroom were the only 2 superb parts of this hotel. I stayed as they had amazing reviews but once there its very different and you have to go up to 6th floor just to check in which is ridiculous especially if your located on the 1st floor, very bizarre hotel, adjoining rooms meant i could hear the guests next door all night very difficult to sleep but on my last night they were arguing at 2am! Ridiculous and shouldn't do adjoining rooms so close to others. The staff were friendly and polite however the older gentlemen with grey beatd on the downstairs concierge didnt talk once during my staff ( they should employ helpful and friendly staff not those who dont communicate with guests) i dont know how this hotel got such great reviews i stay in 5 star hotels around 60 times a year this was ok but not great its ideal if you like small rooms. I had requested a suite to be told it was double the price i paid but on ebookers it was only a £200 difference to upgrade . Shame the staff were not more accomadating to my needs as room was very small for what I paid . The hotel is not brilliant but ok. The bathroom was large and clean and the breakfast was truly amazing, although you have to point out to the staff to place order as they forget as did with me on 1 occasion . I accept they get busy but 5 star hotel with a 3 star feel . 3/10

Booked a large directors room. Room very dark, only option was to have full beam lights which wasn't ideal, and room not particularly spacious. Tv dominated the room and didn't lend to you using the seating area. We had opted to pay to have dinner included. We were subsequently treated as though we were on a ‘package’. The main menu was whisked away, and we were presented with a cheaper scaled down menu. Very inconsistent service both nights, one allowing us to have bread, the other not even being offered it. We were sat in the coldest part of the restaurant, where the aircon was blasting out. I bought it to the attention of the waiter and he said he might think about moving us! He didn't, and i sat there with my coat on as it was so cold. We ordered breakfast to the room, which was a nice touch, but both days the order was wrong. We were delivered 3 omelettes when only 1 was asked for, and asked for pastries and got none. Coffee was just enough for 1 cup. You had to ask for your room to be replenished, and on doing so i was greeted with a role of the eyes when we weren't quite ready to leave the room for the day. Overall, it is a great hotel for location, although a bit on the pricey side and service is definitely not 5 star. Valet parking costs £35 a day, when car park is close by for a far better rate.

The decor was beautiful and so on point throughout. Felt like pure luxury. Room was fab, staff very friendly. Breakfast was good though took a little longer than it would usually due to Covid guidelines. Afternoon tea was amazing and they catered for my gluten free partner really well - her cakes etc were just as good as my normal ones. Would definitely return to the Gotham, it’s exceptional.
