Budget hotel Close to Etihad Stadium and tram stop

We stayed in hotel because it was close to Etihad Stadium . My son had tickets for the Man City v Chelsea match for Christmas and we travelled up from devon . If we had realised how basic it is we would not have booked it . I kept bumping head on the bunk over the double bed . There were spots of what looked like congealed blood on the floor in front of window . Because the shower cubicle opened in to bedroom my son had to leave room before I could have shower. The first room we were given smelled very strongly of sewerage but the reception staff very quickly agreed was awful and changed it after they came to see what we meant. We had to make up third bunk bed ourselves as staff apparently refuse to do this. The breakfasts we paid for separately were ok but disappointing not even boiled eggs available so very carb laden . The drinks for sale in coolers in reception were ridiculously expensive. And we wished we had taken travel kettle . We would not book a budget hotel again .

Lived up o the name Ibis “budget” and when anything is on a budget you only hope to get enough to justify what you’re paying and not ask too much. The hotel and its facilities was “just fine” however the staffs were helpful, amazing which provided a much needed home feel.

Cons: No car park
A little bit too much DIY and unclear who was actually in charge

Cheap and cheerful

Pros: Bed - comfy and clean
Cons: kettle in room.
It's very basic but for the price (£49) - it's fine. Bed was clean and comfy. Room has TV (no kettle but reception has coffee machines etc.) Staff were pleasant and helpful and the hotel is situated well for the city.

Good location, great price

We needed to stay out of our house due to having a new bathroom installed so we stayed here on a Sunday night - short walk into the city centre, comfy bed and disco shower, £35. Only downsides - toilet a little small and pillows a little hard, otherwise an absolute bargain.

shabby

i thought this hotel was not value for money and compares poorly to its competitors around it. chipped paintwork, run down a lift that looks like it need quite a bit of work and one lift with bricks round it not working, it does say work is going on, i saw no one working on renovations during my stay. the reception was ok, i got no apology when i mentioned the shower was broken and had to change rooms the bed sheets had fluff and bits on it. i dont think anything more that £30 per night should be charged. i wouldnt go back there.

Cheap and almost cheerful

Cons: Better pillows.
Location: This hotel is probably around a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly Station. The Etihad Stadium is 10 minutes walk in the other direction
You must remember this is a budget hotel and is branded as such, so when I talk of a compact room with the tiniest of toilets that I struggled with then you shouldn't be overly taken aback. I had booked a double room but on arrival was given a triple and given how compact the room was I wouldn't really have liked to have seen how two extra bodies would have coped. Better pillows also wouldn't go amiss. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, something that I wasn't advised of before booking. Having somebody banging on your door at 9am as they try to lift the carpet in the corridor can be something of a shock. There was also only one working lift in my part of the hotel (and it stopped as I was leaving) - something to bear in mind if you're looking to book this hotel anytime soon. However in saying all that this hotel is grand. You're only one Metrolink stop away from Piccadilly Station and two from the Etihad Stadium. If all you're looking is somewhere to lay your head at night it does the job. Granted it is not as central as other hotels but you aren't that far away from Piccadilly and the location actually suited me down to the ground. Not being as central certainly makes for a quieter night.

Établissement bien situé entre le centre-ville et l'ethiad stadium. Beaucoup de passage dans celui-ci. Petit déjeuner correcte. L'établissement fait quand-même un peu usine,

A very nice hotel in a great spot just outside Piccadilly Centre and City Centre. For Manchester City fans the location is perfect :) just a 10 minute walk to the Etihad from here. Breakfast was not the best. Price was not too bad, but it didn’t have too much of selection. Our room was good for the cheap price! A little tight but nothing to complain about. Wifi worked really good. Alltogether we had a very nice stay. Will recommend Ibis hotels to anyone.
