Very nice hotel. Good location. 24 hour room service. Small TV, parking directions where not simple and you have to pay, no pool which was a shame or a nice hotel

Great central hotel. Close to everything and 15 mins walk to station. Top floors give a great view over Manchester. Nice room, comfy bed, tea and coffee.

Very central hotel however rooms are small

Very central hotel with Piccadilly gardens on your doorstep however the rooms are very small, crowded and quite dated!! Probably one of the smallest rooms I’ve stayed in and you can hear next doors conversation. We only stayed for two nights and thought we would treat ourselves to something other than a travelodge however I wouldn’t stay here again. There are lots of beggars around the hotel however felt safe as soon as you step into the hotel.

Nice stay spoiled by rude staff

Room was great, hotel was nice and the bed was very comfy. We also had an amazing view of the city from our window. However when my partner and I checked in we both received a very nasty look by the man who was checking us in. As the hotel is so close to Canal Street, it surprised me that a staff member would show such a blatant disgust at the thought of two women sharing a bed. Luckily we are both able to brush things like this off, but I'm simply raising it as an issue as 1) it could affect others in a much worse way, and 2) it is simply poor customer service. Real shame as otherwise everything was great.

Thank you for your review and rating of the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel. It was great to receive your comments regarding your room as our location afford us a fantastic vista over Manchester. In regards to your comments regarding our team and the member of staff who checked you in, please rest assured that this is no personal reflection. Having shared your feedback with the team they are all shocked and dismayed that you would feel this way as this is never their intention. Indeed we have a very open and inclusive team who work here; I do believe this is a matter of misinterpretation as we have a variety of sexualities, races and genders that work across the property and have never had any mention nor suggestion of a matter like this previously regarding any of the team here on reception. Please do accept our apologies that you felt this way and also our confident assurances that this would have in no way been a reflection of your sexuality, gender nor any other aspect that you may feel this was directed towards.

Could be better

Pros: Corner room,
Cons: Mostly everything
Location: Handy for everything central
Stayed for two nights,Christmas shopping, the hotels central for everything. Our room was a privilege room type, more space, dressing gowns etc,,when we entered the room,it was small and not much of a view,we called reception who quickly arranged an upgraded room at no extra cost, this room was a large corner room with separate lounge area,to be honest it was lovely, but the bed was only a double, there was enough room to fit in a King, queen bed, breakfast was horrible! Cold dry beans, eggs cold, bacon fatty, urgh!

Dear Guest Thank you for your review of the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel. It was a shame to read of your initial dissatisfaction however good to hear that this was resolved for you by the team here. I have passed your comments back to the Restaurant Manager to address with his team as we understand the importance of a great start to the day with an amazing breakfast, a standard we fell short of providing and please rest assured that we will address these concerns internally to provide a better experience for all.

Fab location

Great location overlooking Piccadilly Gardens so only a 5 minute walk from the train station and almost in China Town! Rooms small but very well thought out with hairdryer , iron etc. Bath a little dated but other than that very clean . Concierge really friendly and helpful too .

Good location but disappointing standard

The hotel room was disappointing. The carpets were badly marked and the bath (with shower over it) was in poor condition being badly stained with age. This was for a one night stay but I would not stay again.
